My work examines the binaries that shape how identity and femininity are perceived while exploring the emotional dualities within them: affliction and affection, beauty and discomfort, control and surrender. These ideas guide my studio practice as I explore how gender, intimacy, and identity are staged and remembered in everyday life.
Working in painting, sculpture, and various collage techniques, I build layered surfaces that move between clarity and erasure. Muted grayscale tones are interrupted by flashes of fluorescent pink, echoing moments of tension between softness and sharpness, attraction and unease.
Influenced by personal memory, pop culture, and black-and-white film, I reconstruct familiar imagery to explore what lingers beneath it. Each piece becomes a scene caught between reality and performance, where desire and distortion coexist and emotion functions as both mask and mirror.
